Train Trip to Benaojan

Over 100 years ago the British built a single track railway line connecting Ronda to the seaport of Algeciras. The reason for this was to enable travellers living in mainland Europe to join ships going to the Middle and Far East.

The track runs through a dramatic gorge and enjoys some of the most spectacular scenery to be witnessed from a train anywhere in the world.
Crystal Estates runs a day trip on this train which takes in an excellent lunch in a converted mill up in the mountains. www.molinodelsanto.com
Highly recommended!

Cranchi to Ceuta

One of the geographical features of living in Sotogrande is that you regularly see the dramatic coastline of North Africa, a different continent, in the distance.

Curiously Ceuta is a peninsular fortress town belonging to Spain but attached to North Africa. The town is steeped in history and makes for a very interesting place to visit.

Crystal Estates can charter a fast pleasure boat to cross the Straights of Gibraltar and visit this fascinating town, to enjoy an excellent seafood lunch in one of the tiny local restaurants. Price: 700 Euros (including light snacks and drinks)
